Down the Cobbled Path

A day at a time,
I walk towards the port,
Down a warm cobbled path.
Tall hedges on either side,
Encourage focus.
And in the distance I hear a piper play,
A tune I cannot recall,
And through the carefully trimmed bushes,
A light peeks at us,
Like a child overrun with curiosity.
And for time unknown I have walked the cobbled road,
Warm with feet unseen,
With a resonant tune always,
Playing me to walk forth,
Towards the port.
